• You do not have to be flexible to do yoga! You do yoga to become more flexible. Not doing yoga will allow you to become more inflexible as you grow older.

• Yoga practices should be done 1 to 2 hours after eating a full meal. Bare feet are a must. If you’re on a hard floor a yoga mat is highly recommended.
• Wear clothing that allows for a lot of movement and stretching.
• Find a place in your home that provides enough room to perform the practice.
• Create an environment of peacefulness. No radio, television, and no ringing phone. Go for subdued lighting. Perhaps a candle or two. Adjust the volume of your computer to an appropriate level.
• If you are practicing Naam Yoga Therapies a small firm pillow to sit on allows your legs to cross more comfortably in front of you. It will also help you maintain good posture through out the mudras and mantras.
• Get familiar with the practice before you do the practice. If you are new to yoga start with Beginner Level classes. Listen closely to the instructions given for each pose, they provide proper alignment to guide you through a safe and beneficial class.
• Don’t leave out any portion of the practice. The entire class is meant to provide a complete body and mind experience. The Naam Yoga Therapies have suggested lengths of performance. Begin with shorter lengths of time and progress at your own comfort level.
• Enjoy this time. It’s your time. You’re not competing with anyone. Don’t push the postures beyond a comfortable level, listen for and use modifications that work for you. The more times you perform the practices the more familiar you will become with the poses.
• Remember, choose to make small gains so you can savor the improvements of your practices.

• A broadband connection is required such as DSL, Cable, or Satellite.
  At a minimum the internet speed needs to be 365kbps. You can test your internet speed at www.digitallanding.com and choose “test my internet connection” from the “I want to…” column on the left.

• Under normal conditions our videos begin playing very quickly and continue loading during playback. If you are currently able to play videos on the web but, are experiencing pauses during playback it is most likely due to a temporary decrease in your connection speed due to user volume and/or other factors. Take a deep breath, practice patience, and please pause the video for up to 1-3 minutes, depending on how fast your connection is, to allow for the download to get ahead of itself. You can see this happening by observing the dark gray bar that advances ahead of the white playback marker. We appreciate your understanding, technology, like all of us is not always perfect.

System Requirements:

• Yoga Health and Healing uses flash software to steam its videos. Flash is compatible with PC and Apple computers and all browsers. If you are experiencing a blank screen when trying to view our sample videos you will need to download the current Adobe Flash Player. Go to:

  At this site you will be able to verify the System Requirements and Different Operating Systems and Browsers that are compatible with the Flash Player.
  If you are using a Windows operating system and are having trouble installing the Adobe Flash Player consider “troubleshooting” at the www.adobe.com site.
• If you are still experiencing difficulties installing the Flash Player, you may want to consider an alternative internet browser, Firefox. Firefox is more reliable and stable than Explorer. Along with Explorer, we also encourage Safari users to add Firefox as an alternative browser. Even if your Flash Player is current and working, having an alternative browser choice is good.

• “Run” the install and then “Run” the Install Wizard provided.
• After installing Firefox install the latest Flash Player.

• Click Start and choose Control Panel
• Choose Programs & Features or Programs to Uninstall
• Look for Adobe or Macromedia Flash Player - there may be more than one including an Active X plug-in.
• Highlight these one at a time and Uninstall each.
• Once all are Uninstalled ReBoot (Shut Down & Restart the computer)
• Download the Flash Player from Adobe
• After the Flash Player is installed ReBoot again.

• Open Internet Explorer
• Choose Tool > Internet Options
• Select the Security tab
• Select Custom Level
• Find the section “ActiveX controls and Plug-Ins”
• Set “Download Signed ActiveX Controls” to Prompt
• Set “Run ActiveX Controls and Plug-Ins” to Prompt
• Make sure your Internet Explorer security level is not set to High.
• Or to a Custom Level that does not allow viewing of ActiveX controls. Try installing the Flash Player and if successful Reboot the computer.

• Many computers can be connected to a television. The simplest connection is with an S-Video cable. Both the computer and television must have this output/input connectablity. The sound however will still come from the computer. In any other cases both the computer and the television connectors must be compatible. You may have to make inquires with both the computer and television manufacturer.

• As long as the internet speed is at least 365kbps a wireless network will allow you to view our content. Imagine the possibilities.

• Windows users can Right Click anywhere on the desktop and Choose properties or personalize. Then disable or adjust the time setting so it will not engage for over an hour.
  Mac users can click on the Apple icon in the upper left. Choose system preferences, hardware, and finally, energy saver. Choose Never or set the timer to sleep after 1.5 hours.

• There is a “Full Screen” icon in the bottom corner of the viewer. Click on it to view a full screen. Use the “Esc” escape key to back out of full screen viewing.

• The downloadable video files are in FLV format.  If your computer does not automatically recognize the file format you may need to download and install an flv player.  There are many free players on the internet.  One free player available for both the Mac and PC platform is available here.  This is a 3rd party program which is not affiliated with Yoga Health & Healing, please install this software at your descretion.
