Part 6 - A Map of the Journey - Creating the World You Yearn For
I love it when a plan comes together! The exhilaration of forward movement; progress taking me on a roller coaster ride through new experiences, formidable challenges and uncharted territory. It is in this land of continuous innovation, fresh ideas and never done before feats where we experience personal transformation and, in turn, transform the world.
This is the last article, Part 6 of the blog series Creating the World You Yearn For, that is intended to help us collectively build a world we are proud of, worthy of our children and based on integrity of spirit and creative innovation. In Part 5 - No More Distractions, Please! we addressed the three biggest distractions we will encounter on our journey and learned how to focus our attention repeatedly on the road ahead. We must have focus, clarity and purpose to create the world we deeply yearn for.
Where to Begin?
Don't know where you'd like to focus your attention? Simply scan the daily news and find what causes you the greatest angst. For example, in today's news: U.S. Lifts Ban on Some Elephant and Lion Trophies, U.S. Allies Sign Sweeping Trade Pact That Excludes U.S., or Florida Teacher Says Her Racist Podcast is Satire. There is no dearth of grist for the mill! How can we not act in favor of a world that we yearn for?
World events that cause me the greatest grief are those related to racism or supremacy in any form. I yearn for a world where our basic humanity is evident in our daily lives, where both the oppressed and the oppressors are liberated from their deadly games. I yearn for a more informed world where victims and persecutors become non-partisan civil communities and focus on more pressing needs like protecting our earth, making breakthroughs in medical science and reforming our intra-national diplomacy.
Seize each day and make small bits of progress toward the world you yearn for. This blog series has provided you a basic road-map .... re-read the articles and chart your journey, Intuit what the world you yearn to live in looks like, feels like and smells like and notice that quick flash of thought that reveals the simple solution between today and your possible future.

Mind the Gap
If today - as you peruse the news, or envision the world you yearn for - keep the below 'Map of the Journey' close by to remind you of each step along your journey. Each phase contains vital skills that, when cultivated and taken with conscious awareness, will deliver you to the world you wish to create.
In addition to the map, I have reproduced the steps to Create The World You Yearn For by Blog Topic and specific skills as discussed in each article.
The gap between today and your realized future world is best navigated like a frequently played video in your mind, perhaps with notes or images on paper and in shared conversations with friends and colleagues. Be creative, step outside the comfort of your boundaries and marvel at the results that you achieve every day and every week.
